Jennifer Lopez is done trying to make her marriage with Ben Affleck work, a source revealed to DailyMail.com.
Amid swirling rumors about the couple’s relationship status, an industry insider claims the pop star has reached her limit and feels there’s nothing more she can do to salvage it.
“Jenny has had enough. She really tried, but it’s not getting any better—it’s worse,” the music industry source told DailyMail.com.
The insider added that J.Lo, 54, left her 51-year-old husband primarily because he was always ‘grumpy and negative,’ much like Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street.
Though Jennifer is saddened by the end of her marriage, she is ‘trying to make the best of it by working out, spending time with her twins Max and Emme, and making new plans for 2025,’ they continued.
One of her new plans is to resume her This Is Me… Live tour in the summer of 2025 when she turns 56. She had canceled the 2024 tour, originally set to begin in July, to “recollect herself.”
“She is excited about going on tour next year when her personal life is more stable and she can connect with her fans. She will bring her close circle with her and make the most of it,” said the source.
Lopez is reportedly ‘shocked’ by the negative press she has been receiving, which she feels is unfair.
“If people knew what she has truly gone through, they would be more sympathetic,” the source said.
“Ben is a great guy but he can be grumpy and a downer. I think the world saw that in photos from the Grammys last year; he wouldn’t smile. If they understood the reality, they wouldn’t criticize her,” Jennifer’s friend explained.
“He chain smokes, cusses, and often seems irritated. He’s a fantastic director and actor, but not exactly a bundle of laughs,” added the source. “However, he is a wonderful father.”
Lopez plans to keep moving forward.
“She’s not accustomed to this kind of negative feedback, but she will get over it. She will push on,” the friend said. “Jennifer is incredibly smart and strong; she always bounces back!”
These days, she has been relying on her close friends, including stylist Shawn Barton, nicknamed Beezy, and vocal coach Stevie Mackey.

Regarding Jennifer and Ben’s current relationship, the insider described them as being ‘cordial’ with each other.
But what happened to the once cheerful Ben, who used to smile at fans and publicly show affection with Jennifer?
The source attributes it to the pressures of Ben’s career.
“He’s currently filming Accounting 2, and the hours are really long. He’s putting in a lot of effort, which can be challenging to balance with marriage and kids,” the source explained. “So sometimes, he’s not in the best mood.”
The singer is saddened by the end of her marriage but ‘is striving to make the most of it by working out, spending quality time with her twins, and making new plans for 2025’ (seen with Emme on June 8).
Meanwhile, Lopez has cleared her schedule this summer to give herself some downtime for self-reflection.
“She’s living alone, not with Ben, I think everyone knows that by now, so it’s a major adjustment for her and the kids,” said the friend. Indeed, Ben moved into a $100,000-a-month rental near Garner several months ago.
“Of course, Jenny is saddened; she loves Ben, but they’re just too different. There’s no compromise, no blending—they’re on separate paths.”
The source added that Jennifer gave the relationship her all: “She really put in a lot of effort to make it work, but it just didn’t. She invested a significant amount of time and energy, and I believe he did the same. There’s no one to blame; it simply wasn’t meant to be. It’s incredibly difficult for two major stars to sustain a marriage—someone usually has to give in, but in this case, neither did.”
Instead of wallowing at home, Jennifer is focusing on creating a brighter future.
“She’s reviewing scripts and planning for 2025. After the success of Atlas, she’s receiving numerous offers for movies; everyone wants to collaborate with her. She’s thrilled to remain on the A-list well into her fifties!”
