A three-year-old Indiana boy named Noah Brown is in a life-threatening situation following a severe attack by his father’s 12-year-old stepson. Noah’s parents are divorced, and on the fateful day of the incident, the toddler was entrusted to the care of his father. However, the father left Noah under the supervision of his stepson, who was assigned the responsibility of babysitting the three-year-old.
Noah, known for his high energy, began crying, provoking anger from the babysitter, as reported by Noah’s grandmother, Candy King.
She clarified that the 12-year-old entrusted with babysitting Noah was entirely unsuitable for the role due to a history of anger issues.
Regrettably, to stop Noah from crying, the babysitter resorted to hitting him with a belt, throwing him forcefully onto the bed, resulting in his head striking the bunk bed frame. The 12-year-old then proceeded to repeatedly slam the toddler’s head against the wall until Noah eventually collapsed.
Following this brutal episode, the babysitter was promptly arrested and faced charges of aggravated assault, possession of personal weapons, and four counts of battery.
Tragically, Noah experienced seizures and required sedation due to the extent of the injuries inflicted upon him.
“Due to the severity of his injuries, he had to be put on life support, and a portion of his skull had to be removed,” shared his mother, Michelle Lane, with the Mirror.
“He has a long road to recovery,” Lane told Fox 59, adding “It’s not guaranteed what his quality of life is going to be but we’re praying and hoping for the best that he comes out just fine.” To make things even worse, she said Noah also is battling Covid-19.
Lane initiated a petition urging a revision of the legal age for babysitting in her state to a minimum of 16 years old. She highlighted the absence of a law specifying the age requirement for babysitting a minor in the state of Indiana.
Our heartfelt prayers are with Noah for a swift recovery from his injuries.
