Being surrounded by genuine friends is a precious gift, and 25-year-old Ty Burningham from Davis County, Utah, is indeed fortunate. You might be curious as to why. It’s because he has a multitude of friends and is cherished by the entire community.
What’s remarkable is that Ty has special needs, but that doesn’t hinder his ability to spread happiness wherever he goes.
Those who are acquainted with him often characterize him as an affable and talkative young man who warmly embraces everyone he encounters.
Among Ty’s close friends are local teenagers Maddie Weger and Hunter Garrett, recent graduates of Davis High School. When asked about Ty, they express their enjoyment of his company.
“He’s just so friendly to everyone,” Maddie told KSL. “Like my mom met him in Bowman’s once, and he came over and talked to her for like 30 minutes.”
“He’s got that personality where it’s like, you see him, you just can’t not smile, you know?” Hunter added. “He just lights up a room everywhere he is.”
To demonstrate their appreciation for Ty’s importance in their lives and within the community, Maddie, Hunter, and eight other friends organized a surprise birthday gift for Ty—a shiny, new electric scooter. Ty had been using his old scooter for a while, and the timing was perfect for an upgrade.
When Ty discovered their thoughtful gesture, he exclaimed, ‘Aw, how sweet!’
With an immense smile, he eagerly anticipated taking his new scooter for a spin.
As for his friends, they mentioned that it was the minimum they could do for their cherished friend.
“It might not be grand, but Ty, we simply adore him,” Raef Thomas, one of the teenagers, expressed.
This surprise was truly earned due to everything Ty selflessly does for his neighbors each and every day.
