Tirado says she was confused by the policy and contacted the manager about it. The manager pointed out that students should have a minimum score of fifty, even if they have not submitted any work for an assignment. “I’m so upset that we have a nation of kids who expect to get paid and live their lives just to show off and that’s just not real,” Tirado said. Diane Tirado decided she wouldn’t get involved in politics and felt the need to get the grades. She was fired shortly after the decision to give students who submitted no work a zero for the assignment. However, since it was still in test mode, there was no need to terminate the service.
Tirado believes she was fired for demanding that students get their grades. Diane says she was not allowed to say goodbye to her students. But while she was packing her class stuff, she was sure to leave a handwritten message saying goodbye. The teacher also reminded them that she loved them. Several students have shown their support for Tirado and the messages left for the teacher have been shared several times on social networks.
