Kenny Holland is a big brother to his sister Capri Holland. By using his sound equipment, this young man and his little sister were able to create one beautiful song by seamlessly blending two famous songs together in this 2016 performance.

To begin, Capri Holland sings the well-known lyrics, “Wise men say only fools rush in.” Kenny Holland effortlessly takes the lead with, “But I can’t help falling in love with you.”

But it’s no surprise this brother-sister duo was able to accomplish something great together. Kenny Holland is actually an accomplished singer. The 25-year-old singer not only posts song covers of famous artists via his YouTube channel, but he also writes and composes his own songs. The aspiring pop singer has already published a few of his singles online. According to AllMusic.com, his musical talent also caught the eye (and ear) of other people, enabling him to gain a spot as a show opener for Aaron Carter and Demi Lovato. Back in 2016, he also gained one of the leading roles of the film adaptation of the Mormon-inspired fantasy musical “Saturday’s Warrior.” While the movie passed largely unnoticed outside of the LDS Church, several viewers praised Holland’s singing voice and engaging role.
His latest upload on YouTube featured one of his own songs. “If I Were (Coronavirus)” is a slow, heartfelt ballad about love in our current struggling times. Kenny Holland writes in the song’s description:
“This song started as a little joke of a jingle. But as I continued to write it, it turned into something magical. It became a sort of anthem for love and beauty in a time of such chaos and confusion. I hope it resonates with you and whoever you love: a partner, a family member, or a friend. Let’s all find ways to love and help each other during this uncertain time. And remember to ALWAYS see the beauty in the madness.”

Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” was initially recorded by the King of Rock in 1961. According to SongFacts.com, the melody is based on the classic French love Song “Plaisir d’amour” (Pleasure of Love) composed by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini. It was written in 1784 and was a great success at the time; in 1859, an orchestra adaptation was made.
The song became one of Presley’s most iconic songs, as he often finished his later concerts during the 1960s and 1970s with it. It was also the last song he played at his last live concert on June 26, 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana. It has been covered by many artists of all genres over the years, including Bob Dylan, Twenty One Pilots and the a capella group Pentatonix.
The song “Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World,” released in 1993, was written and composed by Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole and featured on his album “Facing Future.” It became part of several TV programs and commercials and was also included in music scores for the movies “Meet Joe Black” and “Son of the Mask.” To Kamakawiwo’ole — known popularly as Iz, Big Iz or The Gentle Giant — the entry was much more than a music bed. Its gentle tenor ukulele and Iz’s lovely falsetto marked his music as the expression of native Hawaiian culture he felt was losing its leverage at the hands of the travel industry.
Both Presley and Kamakawiwo’ole left our world far too soon, and interestingly enough, their weight played a role in both their deaths — although the singers had vastly different approaches to life, death and their health.
Presley gained lots of weight over the last stage of his life; however, according to eye-witness accounts that have long since been proven true, his extensive drug use fuelled many of his bodily problems. Presley finally died in August 1977 at age 42.
Obesity, owing to the singer’s relaxed lifestyle and love of food, took a toll on Kamakawiwo’ole’s health, with the singer weighing over 700 pounds at the end, according to the Star-Bulletin. He died in June of 1997 at the age of 38.
According to WBUR News, Kamakawiwo’ole once said:
“I guess this is gonna sound kind of weird, but I’m not scared for myself for dying, because I believe all these places are temporary. This is just one shell, because we Hawaiians live in both worlds. It’s in our veins.”
