A young Australian couple had been tired of people urging them to have babies. When the big day came and a new member was added to the family, Abby Lee and Matt Kay decided to celebrate it with their families with a newborn photoshoot… But there is a twist that no one could ever expect. The new member of the family is Humphry, a bit too furry to be a baby, but a loving and adorable groodle (a cross between a poodle and a golden retriever).

Elisha Minette who was the person in charge of their adorable photo session, who had the idea when the couple was driving home from the breeder where they picked up Humphry. “We did this shoot just for a little bit of humour between ourselves, as well as for those that share the same sense of humour as us. Everything went so smoothly. The pup was enjoying every second of it,” said Minette to Buzzfeed. “I think everyone will be seeing a lot more of Humphry in the future!”

To stop people asking about babies, Matt and Abby decided to do a newborn photoshoot…with their dog!

Meet Humphry, their hairy newborn!

The idea was born on a long drive home from picking up their dog from a breeder

“Abby and I have the craziest sense of humour and we feed off of each other with ideas”

The couple did it as a “light-hearted” parody of parents who do such photo shoots with their newborns

“People may say we have way to much time on our hands to do this photo shoot, but that’s not the case”

“We just prefer to be creative!”
