There’s no greater feeling in this world than becoming a parent. When you bring a child into your life, the rest of the world is put on pause as you shower them with boundless love and adoration.
Lacey Dunkin always wanted to be a mother. When she learned that she was about to become the adopted mother to four little girls, she couldn’t contain her excitement. When she brought them home, however, she had no idea what she was in for.
After hard work and a lot of patience, Lacey Dunkin finally became eligible to adopt a child in 2011.

That’s when someone contacted her about not just adopting one little girl, but her three sisters, too!
It wasn’t long before the four girls moved into Lacey’s home, but they weren’t in the clear just yet.
After nine months of living together, the girls’ birth mother contacted Lacey and regained custody of the four children.
One month later, however, Lacey got a call from the girls’ birth mother with some big news.

The mother decided it was best for the girls to go with Lacey. Before they did, however, she had one big request: Lacey had to take her four girls, plus a newborn, so the sisters could stay together.
Soon, Lacey even adopted a sixth girl from the mother, bringing the sisters together all under one roof.
Over three years have passed since Lacey adopted Sophia, Natalie, Melanie, Kaylee, Lea, and Cecily.

After getting together to take their family picture, Lacey had this to say about her beloved daughters:
“So I was nominated in the Motherhood Dare to post one picture that makes me proud or happy to be a mom. I chose this picture.
I chose this picture not because it’s a beautiful picture, although it is, but because of the memory of taking this picture. The memory of the chaos and stress that preceded this beautiful happy picture of me and my girls.
What you don’t see is the yelling, pleading, bargaining that went on prior to this picture. The tears and whining and pouting and me flipping out saying, “all I want is one nice picture of us all, is that too much to ask???” You don’t see me asking my mom to race down to the park, me texting my sweet photographer that it’s been the “morning from hell”, or me rudely honking at a woman who was taking her sweet time to close her door so we could park. (Not my best moment).
This picture reminds me that even during the hard times, life is beautiful. That pressure produces diamonds, and that things don’t have to be “perfect” to be great.”
Lacey worked so hard just to become a mom. It looks like all that hard work is finally paying off!
