A 7-year-old girl got a running start into her career with a captivating letter to the “Google Boss.”
Chloe Bridgewater isn’t a name that many tech heavyweights will recognize yet, but you have to know, she’s going places, after getting an encouragement message from Google boss Sundar Pichai.
Chloe, who lives in Hereford, England, has a passion for her tablet computer and robots. When she knew about Google – and the perks of working there with slides, go-karts and bean-bag chairs – she knew she had to work there.
After discussing with her dad about what she really wanted to do when she’s old enough, Dad told her to submit a job application via the Google Jobs site. She did. Neither of them really expected to get a response, but in true Google fashion, they did the unexpected.
The letter was addressed to “Google boss” where Chloe detailed all her credentials, including that she is “very good in class and am good at my spelling and reading and my sums”. She was successful in writing what was essentially a cover letter!

A few days later, Pichai replied personally, telling her: “I’m glad you like computers and robots and hope you will continue to learn about technology”.
No rejection letter this one, as he adds: “I think if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything you set your mind to – from working at Google to swimming at the Olympics”.
He finished on a smiley, saying that he looked forward to a job application after she had finished school.

Google has confirmed that the letters between the tech CEO and young girl are real.
Chloe’s father said on his post that she is now even more eager to do well at school and work at Google after receiving the letter.
Of course, Andy Bridgewater is one proud father! He took to social media as soon as Google’s letter came in, boasting, “My 7 yr old daughter wrote to the boss of Google asking for a job. She’s so made up he replied! Thanks @sundarpichai.”

He also posted the application letter and the response letter to Twitter and LinkedIn. In total, he received nearly 100K likes in just two days. The people of social media have been responding, saying things like “She’s an example of how all little girls should be,” and “Chloe is going places, no doubt!”

As Deborah calls attention to, Andy Bridgewater is a great dad who understands what it means to parent. With Chloe’s determination, Andy’s motivation and caring CEOs like Sundar Pichai, more of our youth will be inspired to work hard to build a better future.
