This summer, the Tower of London is going to be covered with a sea of crimson. This piece of art is perceived by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper. These two artists will memorialize each and every British or Colonial fatality from World War 1 by planting 888, 246 red ceramic poppies in a flowing sea around the tower.
This piece of art is named “Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red”. It will be launched on August 5th, exactly 100 years after the first day of Britain involvement in World War 1. The installation will end on November 11th, 2014 which comes with the day of remembrance in the U.K.
