We’ve all heard the disappointing, ridiculous and sometimes horrifying stories of people shopping while Black, driving while Black, and even walking while Black. But what about flying while Black? Well, it turns out i’s also an issue, that’s what DC-based music executive Emmit Walker learned just 2 days ago, when a passenger on the same flight as him couldn’t believe he’s flying first class and launches some nasty comments at him while waiting in the line. Thankfully, Walker fired back with an absolutely perfect response.
Walker’s silly incident is a disappointing but strong reminder of the racist reactions Black people still face off during daily situations, but is also a triumphant example of what happens when the owners of that racism are called out and made a fool of in public.
