Cold pizza, microwave pizza, frozen pizza – experts say this is probably a healthier breakfast than a bowl of cereal.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and requires a plate full of protein, carbohydrates, possibly vegetables. A slice or two of pizza (not a full box) is a healthy, balanced diet throughout the day. So do not hesitate to eat fatty foods before 10 am.
Pizza is a balanced breakfast like any other meal, much better than most of our grains. And heck, if Beyoncé can eat cupcakes after SoulCycle, you can eat pizza before 10 am. You may also need to think about what you are feeding your children before they go to school and spend so much energy.
Cereals are regarded as nutritionally poor choices for a meal — there’s rarely protein (except for milk which is unsuitable for lactose-intolerant people), healthy fats, or anything but spoonfuls of sugar in cereal these days. Also, since cheese is winning hearts as a top superfood these days, pizza is coming through as the better option.

“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” explained Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN to The Daily Meal. “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”
She explains that pizza is not exactly healthy food, to say the least, and definitely not the most nutritious option for her. However, this is a more balanced meal compared to a bowl of quickly dumped sugar flakes.
“Plus, a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash,” Amer confirmed.
So, it’s settled. Pizza is the best option for a stylish Sunday brunch for one. Just don’t eat it if you left the box outside overnight, it’s not okay. Also, just in case, you can consult your doctor before doing this dietary overhaul.
