The 8-year-old boy Christian McPhilamy kept growing his hair for the past 2 and a half years. He was often mistaken by other people for a girl and also was bullied most of the time at school. However, he was determined to let his hair grow more for a very inspiring reason – to donate 10-inch-long locks of his hair to make wigs for kids who lost theirs due to cancer. He has been doing this for the past two years. This is something incredibly amazing and it is certainly out of ordinary for a boy his age to do it.
His inspiration started when he was 6. During Christmas 2012, Christian saw a TV advertisment for St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital featuring young cancer patients without hair. Despite mistaking him for a girl, McPhilamy didn’t want this to stop him from achieving his goal and donating his hair to Children With Hair Loss.
Christian McPhilamy went through bullying for the past two years to grow his hair long for his special cause.
It took him 2 years and a half for his hair to grow enough to donate it for kids who lost their hairs due to cancer
His mother, in a post on Facebook, said that Christian had been called a girl and even been offered money by adults to cut his locks.

Christian kindly let them know of his mission. Most of them gave a heartfelt apology right away.
The bullying made Christian feel “not very good,” but that didn’t stop him!
He chopped off his 12-inch long hair May 20, donating it to nonprofit organization Children With Hair Loss
