A Japanese organisation called Second Life Toys are doing a great job of teaching kids about organ donation, this smart idea is already gaining a lot of people’s attention.
The campaign consists on bringing old broken plushies in order to give them new limbs so they can be complete once again, and here comes the best part of this… everyone can donate their own broken unwanted toy.. The organisation will even send you a letter from the “recipient” plushie telling you how your donation has helped to improve their lives. Isn’t that awesome??
It’s a sweet idea and the message behind it is important.
Not only this is an adorable idea but this is an important message to learn from. It is know that organ donation is a hard situation that doesn’t get a lot of attention and care in Japan. 14,000 people are on waiting lists and about 300 of them per year get the chance to receive the organs they need. Hopefully this campaign can change this by raising some much needed awareness, and you can play your part by donating your old plushies here.
