Mayra was also being named as the ‘Half Ton Killer’ because she was accused for killing her nephew when she fell on him and crushed him to death. But later, it was revealed that the kid was abused and killed by his mother. Mayra wanted to protect her sister and decided to take the blame by confessing falsely to the crime. Fortunately, her sister Jamie decided to do the right thing and returned herself to the police and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
After the incident, Mayra promised to get healthier to take care of her sister’s surviving children. Since then, she has been through an incredible and life-changing transformation. With the help of surgeries, she was able to shed hundreds of pounds.
Mayra has also changed her ideas about food. ‘Food to me is I have to eat to live,’ she said. ‘Before it was living to eat, and now you know, it’s just something normal.’ She said.
Rosales ended up changing her life and now she is the person who wanted always to be, a healthy and happy person.
She is now in the process of getting custody of Jamie’s surviving children, who Rosales said are excited just to see her walking again.
