The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a wedding is probably a white wedding gown. While most women opt for this traditional color on their big day, some decide to take the road less traveled and choose a different hue.
Sophie Cachia decided to go in exactly the opposite direction of tradition and chose a black dress- which she pulls off perfectly!
Sophie is a 25-year-old mom and blogger who wanted to do things a little differently on her wedding day. However, for Sophie, it didn’t seem like that big of a departure. “I always wear black anyway,” she said. “I think it suits me and it’s such a bold and striking color.”

Plus, Sophie didn’t want to do the same thing that everyone else does. “I didn’t want anything traditional…everyone has a wedding, why does everyone have to do everything the same, there’s no rule book,” she said.

Sophie’s dress, designed by Anthony Montesano from Signor Mont Couture, featured a plunging neckline, gorgeous beading, and a fishtail skirt. While it may not be what most women would pick, Sophie definitely rocks it.

The bride also had her bridesmaids wear black and carry bouquets with no flowers. The groom was actually the only one who didn’t wear black as his main color! Instead, he wore a maroon blazer and a paisley shirt with leather pants.

The bride simply wanted to wear a dress that she was passionate about, just like any of us would. “I didn’t do it for attention, or to be known as the girl who wore a black dress on my wedding day,” she said.
