Every Christmas, Carol Suchman donates hundreds of toys to homeless and foster children in Brooklyn, US, but this year she decided to up her game — she bought an entire toy store.
Carol, a successful venture capitalist, spotted the closing-down toy store and decided to buy every item in the shop.
She told ABC: “When I saw this toy store, I just realized I could do it on a grander scale for this one year.”
“Children are always my focus. I realized a lot of foster kids get a lot of used things and probably never had a birthday gift that they actually wanted.”
“I know everyone could use a gift around the holidays.”
Carol wrapped all the toys, stuffed animals, and stationery, gifting it all to New York City’s Department of Homeless Services.
Antonio Rodriguez, who works in the department, told CNN: “This is the first time anyone ever bought out an entire store for a donation.”
“We are so grateful and excited to be able to bring some joy to these children who have so little this holiday season.”
