Imgur user locolukas wanted to transform his lawn and share photos of the transformation on his profile. It took him about 2 months to complete the whole process. He turned his front yard into a giant vegetables garden giving a fresh smell to passerby. It is a great idea but the result is much more epic.
This is his front yard. He started off by placing 8 6’x4′ raised beds with reclaimed redwood barn siding.
Instead of turff, he filled them with the free compost that the city was giving away
He planted some seeds and they started to sprout quickly!
Cinder blocks and wood chips filled in the rest of the lawn
It took 3 weekends to sort everything out!

Arugula came first
Spinach was next
Shortly followed by some gorgeous beets
Radishes grew FAST!
The delicious sweet peas
More veggies? YES!

We can’t get enough of these gorgeous veggies!

Lush carrots just pulled out of the lawn
The produce was so big that he had to give lots of the veggies away!
