Mike and Cheryl Haggard, a couple who became parents in 2005. However, they were informed that their born baby has no chance to live. With a broken heart, they decided to do something other parents wouldn’t think of.
Their son who has a hopeless condition called myotubular myopathy was attached to the life-support. Before taking it off, the sad parents didn’t want to send him off with out grabbing short moments with him. They called photographer Sandy Puc to take series of white and black photos of them spending their last moments together.
They were heartbreaking moments to witness but these memorialised pictures was the inspiration for Cheryl Haggard and Sandy Puc to create a non-profit organisation called ” Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep”. This organisation has the mission of helping parents to keep their last moments with their lifless babies through pictures. The organisation trains and encourages volunteer photographers across the world.
