The talented Russian photographer, Elena Shumilova, who became very well known when she went viral on viral novelty, has been busy lately engineering more lovely and unique pictures. Using of course animals and children side by side enjoying the farm life.
Her images are full of joy and the ideal village life. They give a sense of comfort and make you feel at ease in nature. The photos also enchant you with her models- her two sons and peaceful farm animals. In an earlier interview with Viral Novelty, she said, “ Children and animals- it’s my life. I’m a mom with two sons and we spend a lot of time on the farm.”
These qualities have encouraged her development in her preference for natural light when shooting. Shumilova makes use of a Canon EOS 5D III and a 135mm lens. “When shooting I prefer to use natural light- both inside and outside. I love all sorts of light conditions- street lights, candle light, fog, smoke, rain and snow- everything that gives visual and emotional depth to the image.”
