When you imagine yourself packing it all in and retiring, you probably see yourself hanging out in the park, finally writing your memoir, or just catching up on all those films on ‘100 movies everyone needs to see’ lists.

But surprisingly, there are some people in this world who aren’t so self-centered – people who actually want to spend their older years helping others out of the goodness of their hearts. Take Agnes Kasparkova. At 90 years old, and been working as an agricultural worker for years before retirement, she’d be entirely justified in spending her time relaxing in an armchair in front of a sofa. She’s worked hard for decades. But instead of lounging, Agnes chooses to dedicate her days painting the houses in her village with beautiful floral designs.

She uses only a single shade of blue and a small brush to create these floral patterns that are inspired by traditional Moravian (southern Czech) artwork. And despite becoming kind of famous locally and nation-wide, she says that she does it only for pleasure: “I am an artist,” she told Czech media. “I just enjoy it and I want to help.”
