The well-known French celebrity photographer Philippe Echaroux recently decided to challenge himself and see if he can still create good portraits of people without using the high-end gear.

Instead of using high-end camera equipment, he decided to use an iPhone and light his subjects using a McDonald’s Big Mac box which is absolutely too far from his comfort zone.

The talented snapper reveals that the most difficult part of this project was feeling embarrassed about asking his subjects to pose in front of the make-shift equipment, but he was impressed with the final results.

His most important mission is not to show off his good photography skills like Andrew Defrancesco but is to encourage people to be creative and try to do what they have in mind without finding excuses.

After taking the initial shots, Philippe used editing software including Photoshop and VSCO to further enhance the final result but everything was done on his phone. Without the proper lighting, however, it would be nearly impossible to reach the result that he got.
