A total solar eclipse stretched from Lincoln Beach, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina, according to NASA. Meanwhile, a partial solar eclipse could be seen across North America, along with parts of South America, Africa and Europe.. This was the first time since 1918 when North America experienced the path of totality from coast to coast.
