Desperate mom is down to last $20 when her 3 kids pray for miracle only to sob when she finds envelope on doorstop

Sara’s 3 kids begged for a stop at the ice cream shop, but she was down until her last $20 until next payday. When she told them they’d have to wait they decided to pray to God for a miracle. Sara tried to convince them it doesn’t work that way only to get find an envelope that changed her life forever.

As an adult, it’s easy to let our hectic schedules and mountains of bills distract us from what’s truly important. Family, faith and friends are what makes life worth living, but the craziness of life often gets in the way. Such was the case for one woman named Sara.

Sara is a dedicated mother of three and a hard worker. However, once the end of the month rolls around, money gets tight and she has to make choices about what’s necessary – even if her children don’t understand why they can or can’t have something!

She had no idea her children’s recent “tantrum” about not being able to get a sweet treat was actually God looking down on her from Heaven and smiling…

Sara got the reminder from God she desperately needed while driving in the car with her children. They were on the way home from running errands when the idea of ice cream popped into the kids’ minds. The kids wanted ice cream – and they wanted it now!

Unfortunately, it was close to payday, which meant Sara was running low on cash.

Thankfully, God was keeping a careful eye on Sara and her little ones. She shared what happened that fateful afternoon on her Facebook page:

“So I have $20 to my name right now. Bills are paid and food is bought, but there just wasn’t much leftover this week. That’s okay. Then on the way home from grocery shopping today, my kids begged for ice cream. Begged. Cried real tears. All the drama.

I said no.

I’m short on money and I might need that $20 before payday. We have plenty of good food at home; we don’t need to stop at the ice cream store.

I heard little sighs from the back seat, and then, ‘God, we’d really love some ice cream. Is there any way you can give mommy some money so we can get some ice cream tonight? We know you can. Thank you.’

Oh, good grief.”

‘Guys,’ I said, ‘God isn’t going to drop money on our doorstep so you two can get ice cream. He’s BUSY right now with natural disasters.’

‘Nope,’ Josh said. ‘God said you’ll have plenty of money for ice cream and to give some to the natural disaster people.’

‘Josh… it doesn’t work that way,” I started, and then gave up.

And then we got home. And on my doorstep was the mail. In the mail was an envelope. In the envelope was a check for $123. From an overpayment on a student loan I paid off… in 2007.

The kids were not surprised. God was not surprised. They got ice cream. The Red Cross got a donation.

And Mom remembered, yet again, what it means to have the faith of a child.”

Sara didn’t think she had the money to pay for ice cream, but God had something special up his sleeve. Fortunately, her son kept the faith and inspired her own after they discovered His present on their doorstep.

This is the reminder we all need to let go and allow God to take the reins. Life is so much better when He guides our path!
